Kerala, also known as the “God’s own Country” is famous for its Backwaters which earns it the title of Venice of the East.  It is home to the Nilgiri Hills known for its tea and coffee plantations.  And amidst these hills lie the hill resorts of Munnar and Thekkady.  At Thekkady one sees the wild elephants in their natural habitat at the Periyar wild life Park.  

Kerala boasts of beaches at Kovalam, Cherai and Varkala, the hill resorts of Munnar, Nelliampathy, Ponmudi and Wayanad and the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries at Periyar and Eravikulam National Park.  Major cities are Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram.
