| After lunch at LEGENDS OF INDIA – known for its gourmet North Indian cuisine, visit Humayun’s Tomb - final resting place of the 2nd Great Mughal. Later, proceed to the 12th century QUTUB COMPLEX to see the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first ever built in India & the Qutub Minar – for centuries the tallest structure in the environs of Delhi. Return to the hotel for overnight. |
Day 03 – DELHI / NAWALGARH |
After breakfast, we drive to Nawalgarhin the Shekhawati region in Rajasthan. Lunch en route. Continue to Nawalgarh, where we check-in at a heritage Hotel. In the evening take a WALKING TOUR OF THE ROYAL FARMS to see the LIFE STYLE OF INDIAN FARM LABOUR as well as learn about the flora and fauna of this region. Overnight at the Palace. |
Day 04 –NAWALGARH |
After breakfast, we visit with our guide the Painted Havelis – ancestral mansions of old trading families - profusely decorated with frescoes on subjects ranging from mythology to trains and British armies. After lunch at the hotel, attend a Horse Safari Orientation. Dinner & overnight at the hotel. |
Day 05 – NAWALGARH / HORSE SAFARI / OVERNIGHT CAMP |
After breakfast, we take a Horse Safari into the desert. Lunch enroute. Overnight at the camp. |
Day 06 – OVERNIGH CAMP / BIKANER |
After breakfast, the coach will drive us to Bikaner - founded by Rao Bika in 1488AD where we check in at another heritage Hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. |
Day 07 – BIKANER / JAISALMER |
After breakfast, visit with our guide a Camel Breeding Farm for an insight into the lifestyle of this Ship-of-the-Desert. Later, we drive to Jaisalmer - town on the ancient Silk Route, where we check-in at a Hotel for overnight. |
Day 08 – JAISALMER |
After breakfast, visit with our guide Jaisalmer Fort, which still houses 2,500 citizens within its walls; Salim Singh Ki Haveli & Patwon Ki Haveli – profusely carved noblemen’s mansions, and Gadi Sagar Lake, surrounded by temples and shrines. In the evening, visit the golden Sam Sand Dunes, where we take a CAMEL RIDE in the Great Indian Thar Desert. Dinner & overnight at the hotel. |
Day 09 – JAISALMER / JODHPUR |
After breakfast, we drive to Jodhpur, the former Capital of the awesome Rathores. Continue to Jodhpur and check-in at a heritage Hotel for overnight. |
Day 10 – JODHPUR |
After breakfast, we visit with our guide Mehrangarh Fort sprawled atop a shaven hill & Jaswant Thada, the royal cenotaphs. After lunch at the hotel, we go for half day excursion in Jeeps to Bishnoi Village, inhabited by Bisnoi tribe who are perhaps the world’s oldest conservationist of their flora and fauna. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. |
Day 11 – JODHPUR / RANAKPUR / UDAIPUR |
After breakfast, we drive to Udaipur – the city of lakes; visiting enroute Ranakpur Jain Temples, constructed in 15th century and set amidst Aravalli Hills. The Temples are a riot of 1,444 columns profusely carved, no two alike. Lunch at Maharani Bagh Orchard – the former Palace of Maharaja of Jodhpur. Continue to Udaipur and check in at a heritage hotel for dinner & overnight. |
Day 12 – UDAIPUR |
After breakfast, visit with our guide the City Palace + Museum – belonging to the longest dynasty in the world after the Japanese. We also visit theBhartiya Lok Kala Kendra or Folk Art Museum – a foundation for the preservation of local folk arts, paintings and musical instruments. In the evening, we attend the RAJASTHANI FOLK DANCES. Dinner & overnight at the hotel. |
Day 13 – UDAIPUR / JAIPUR |
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport to connect flight to Jaipur – the Pink City and Capital of Rajasthan State, where we check in at a Hotel. After lunch at the hotel, we visit with our guide the City Palace & Museum - where the son of the last Maharaja still resides; and Jantar Mantar - the Royal Astronomical Observatory built on ancient astronomical principles. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. |
Day 14 – JAIPUR |
After an early breakfast, visit with our guide Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds from behind whose latticed screens, the royal ladies once viewed ceremonial processions and everyday street life; the Fortress Palace of Amber - former Capital of the Jaipur rulers till 1727AD. RIDE AN ELEPHANT from the parking lot to the fort gates atop a hill. For lunch we go to DERA AMER a Polo ground in the jungles beyond Amber Fort, where we witness Elephant Polo being played, accompanied by Military Band playing martial music - both specially for our group. Afternoon, we take a walk of Lacal Bazar. Return to the hotel for overnight. |
Day 15 – JAIPUR / FATEHPUR SIKRI / AGRA |
After breakfast, we drive to Agra – the erstwhile capital of The Great Mughals. Visiting en route Fatehpur Sikri, one of the Mughal Capitals built by Akbar The Great during 1569-72AD. It crystallizes within itself fragment of the Mughal era and their way of life. We examine their buildings, constructions techniques and engineering marvels and history. Lunch enroute at UDAI VILAS PALACE. Continue to Agra, where we check-in at a Hotel for dinner and overnight. |
Day 16 – AGRA |
Early morning, visit with our guide, the magnificent Taj Mahal – built by the grief stricken Shahjahan, in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal - to view it at sunrise. After breakfast at the hotel, visit with our guide Agra Fort - stronghold of the Mughal Empire for over 150 years and built over the reigns of 3 Great Mughals from 1565AD onwards. In the evening, we attend Kathak – the North Indian Classic Dance. Dinner & overnight at the hotel. |
Day 17 – AGRA / DELHI |
After breakfast, we drive to Delhi, where we check-in at a Hotel for dinner and some rest. After dinner, at an appropriate time our staff will transfer you to the international airport to connect flight home. |
